Installation

Install SnipeSeats on macOS, Windows, or Linux.

SnipeSeats is a native desktop app for macOS, Windows, and Linux. It runs locally on your machine — nothing is hosted or proxied through a server you don't control.

• macOS — download SnipeSeats-macOS.dmg and open it. Drag the SnipeSeats icon onto the Applications shortcut, then eject the disk image. Since the app isn't notarized through the App Store yet, the first launch may ask you to confirm you trust it (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway).
• Windows — download SnipeSeats-Windows-Setup.exe and run the installer. Windows SmartScreen may warn about an unrecognized publisher on first run — click “More info” → “Run anyway”.
• Linux — download SnipeSeats-Linux.AppImage. AppImages aren't executable by default, so right-click the file in your file manager, open Properties → Permissions, and check Allow executing file as program (wording varies slightly by desktop environment). Then just double-click it to run.

All three downloads are available on the download page and always point at the latest release.

Prefer the terminal? chmod +x SnipeSeats-Linux.AppImage does the same thing as the Properties toggle above.

Once installed, SnipeSeats can update itself in-app — see checking for updates. On Linux, in-app updates only work if you installed via the .deb or .rpm package, attached to every GitHub release alongside the AppImage; AppImages need to be re-downloaded manually.
